Make Face Cream - Face cream is one of oldest cosmetic products, invented by greek physician Galen nearly 2,000 years ago, when he combined oil, wax and rose water. This basic facial cream is easy to make at home, and very profitable. With this method, you can use equivalent of many expensive face creams do today in market for fraction of cost. This recipe makes about six ounces natural, soothing cream for face that can be used as cleanser, moisturizer, or to prevent stains.
How to Make Face Cream
Combine ½ ounce white wax with one ounce lanolin in glass pan or double boiler. Heat mixture over low flame until ingredients are completely melted, about three to five minutes, stirring constantly.
Add 3 ounces sweet almond oil and 1 ounce rose water slowly to wax and lanolin mixture. Stir constantly while adding. Remove pan from heat.
Add five to 10 drops essential oil of choice, if desired. If you decide to add essential oil, choose for your skin type. Try using rose or lavender for normal to dry skin, tea tree or peppermint for oily or acne prone skin, and rose geranium or neroli for sensitive skin.
Transfer face cream to low tub or jar. Label with contents and date. Place jar in refrigerator if cream has not been used within 30 days, where it will keep additional 30 days.
To use face cream, apply directly to face, massaging laugh lines upwards, and over cheek toward outer section of eye. Pat under eye areas delicately with cream, and gently massage crow's feet upward toward temples. Massage forehead from middle, moving outward, while applying face cream.
